Covid-19 is destroying the world like Thanos, wish the Avengers were for real

As god couldn’t be everywhere to save lives, he sent doctors on the earth.

“I’m erring on the side of caution, don’t worry”, Dr. Vinay pacified Neetu, his scared-stiff sister, for his commitment to the hospital and his profession during this very trying time. While these doctors are fighting a war like soldiers not caring for their lives, the world has come to a standstill as the economies can be seen collapsing like a house of cards. “The panorama for worldwide growth for the year 2020 is negative —a recession, at the minimum, as bad as global financial crisis or worse”, Kristalina Georgieva, the IMF  managing director, has set the seal on the prevailing scenario. My heart thumped when I shared a link concerning the doldrums with my students as terms like recession/depression/ war and pandemic are only fit to be just talked about, when they happen for real maladies like mass unemployment/ bankruptcies/failing businesses and mass mortalities also come alive cladding the world with hopelessness.

Amidst this sticky patch, on five April day in twenty-twenty, I couldn’t hold back putting my hands together for the massive display of the spirit of togetherness by all Bharat Waasis, not for any  India Pakistan cricket match but being united to chase off the darkness of Corona by kindling the light of hope, you see, there is light at the end of the tunnel. How long this tunnel is? Well, we do not have the foggiest notion.

This pandemic has engulfed the world, physically, by infecting people and mentally by putting us all at risk of phobias and anxiety disorders, would it be so normal for us to go out in public or touch things and take sojourns to foreign lands as liberally as we used to? I don’t think that way, Xenophobia/ Haphephobia / Agoraphobia / sleep disorders/depression/ anger, Coronavirus has got buddies too. News channels/newspapers/ social media, everything today is flooded with information pertaining the damage this virus has done, giving vent to fear and silently transforming our mindset. Adhering to the government’s instructions, social distancing, washing hands, wearing masks, not absorbing the impertinent stuff available on social media, meditation, prayers and healthy eating are the sure ways to keep this virus and its companions at bay. Covid19 is destroying the world like Thanos, I wish the Avengers were for real, all eyes are on hydroxychloroquine now!
